1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing the Service, using the web application, API, or browser extension (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms").

If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

PathZeno provides AI-powered career tools, including resume generation, document parsing, and content creation through a web application, API, and browser extension.

3. Eligibility and Account Responsibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials.
  • You agree to provide accurate information and are fully responsible for all activity under your account.

4. Acceptable Use & Abuse Prevention

You agree NOT to:

4.1 AI Misuse & Fraud

  • Generate false identities or deceptive resumes.
  • Use the Service for fraud, impersonation, or illegal activity.
  • Misrepresent qualifications, credentials, employment history, or identity.
  • Use the Service to bypass background checks, hiring processes, or verification systems.

4.2 Scraping & Automation

  • Use bots, scrapers, crawlers, headless browsers, or automated scripts to extract data from the Service.
  • Interact with the Service outside officially provided UI or API channels.
  • Abuse APIs, endpoints, or frontend workflows in a way that degrades the Service.

4.3 Reverse Engineering

  • Decompile, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract the source code, prompts, model behavior, system instructions, backend logic, or security controls of the Service.

4.4 Security Attacks

  • Perform unauthorized vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, prompt injection attacks, or attempts to bypass authentication, authorization, rate limits, billing controls, or multi-tenant data isolation.

4.5 Bypassing Controls

  • Circumvent API rate limits, feature gating, subscription requirements, or usage limits.
  • Create multiple accounts to exploit free tiers, trials, credits, or promotional offers.
  • Attempt to bypass payment systems or subscription enforcement.

4.6 Account Sharing

  • Share, resell, lease, sublicense, or transfer your account credentials, access tokens, subscriptions, or API keys to third parties.

4.7 Browser Extension Misuse

  • Modify the browser extension to scrape, inject malicious content, harvest credentials, or interfere with third-party websites.
  • Use the browser extension in violation of applicable laws or third-party site terms.

Enforcement

We may detect and enforce violations through automated telemetry, request velocity tracking, abuse detection, and manual review.

Violations may result in:

  • automated throttling;
  • warnings;
  • suspension;
  • termination;
  • permanent bans without refund, where legally permitted.

5. Billing, Subscriptions, and Stripe Payments

  • Payments are processed by Stripe.
  • We do not store raw credit card data on our servers.
  • Stripe may collect and process payment information according to Stripe's own terms and privacy policy.

5.1 Test Mode

The Service may currently operate in test or beta mode. Payments during test mode may use simulated payment gateways or official Stripe test cards. Do not use real card data during test mode.

5.2 Subscriptions

If paid subscriptions are enabled, you authorize recurring billing through Stripe at the start of each billing cycle.

5.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription through your account dashboard or billing portal. Unless otherwise stated, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle.

5.4 Refunds

All purchases are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated in a separate refund policy.

5.5 Fraud Prevention

Card testing, fraudulent chargebacks, attempts to bypass subscription paywalls, or payment abuse may result in immediate suspension or permanent termination.

6. User Content and Ownership

You retain ownership of resumes, job descriptions, work history, text, files, and other content you submit to the Service ("User Content").

You grant PathZeno a limited license to host, parse, transmit, process, transform, and display User Content solely as necessary to provide, secure, and improve the Service.

To the extent permitted by law, you own the resumes and professional content generated for you by the Service ("Output"), subject to these Terms and any applicable third-party rights.

You are responsible for ensuring that your User Content and use of Output comply with applicable laws and do not violate third-party rights.

7. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

The Service uses third-party artificial intelligence systems. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, fabricated, misleading, or inappropriate.

You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, verifying, and fact-checking all generated content before using it professionally.

We do not guarantee:

  • job placement;
  • interview success;
  • employment outcomes;
  • accuracy of generated claims;
  • acceptance by employers, recruiters, job boards, or applicant tracking systems.

We are not liable for employment rejection, termination, reputational harm, legal disputes, or other consequences resulting from your use of AI-generated content.

8. Browser Extension and API Usage

8.1 Browser Extension

The browser extension may interact with third-party job boards or websites when activated by you. You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with those third-party terms and applicable laws.

We do not guarantee that the extension will work on every site or that third-party sites will permit or continue permitting extension functionality.

8.2 API Usage

API access is subject to rate limits, authentication requirements, and usage restrictions. We may throttle, suspend, or revoke API access if we detect abusive, excessive, unauthorized, or harmful activity.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including software, workflows, designs, branding, interfaces, documentation, and underlying systems, is owned by PathZeno or its licensors.

You are granted a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.

No rights are granted except as expressly stated in these Terms.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE."

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, AND AVAILABILITY.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted, secure, or error-free operation of the Service.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PATHZENO SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER, UNLESS APPLICABLE LAW REQUIRES OTHERWISE.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless PathZeno from claims, damages, liabilities, losses, expenses, and legal fees arising from:

  • your User Content;
  • your use or misuse of the Service;
  • your violation of these Terms;
  • your violation of law or third-party rights;
  • your professional use of AI-generated content.

13. Termination and Changes

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time if we believe you violated these Terms, created risk, caused harm, or misused the Service.

We may modify these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we may notify users through email, dashboard notice, or other reasonable means. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your State/Country], without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
